(5 May) 19 November 1976 over by lower Arnold 2 during the
♀-replacement there. Gone, apparently, by
22 December, → Disappeared by about 6 December ±2 wks.
6 May
1430. Things rather quiet here; nobody in holes.
10 May
1700. Relatively lots of wakea calling coming from here. Nobody
in holes, but 5 birds flushed from the central area as I walked
over to it.
13 May
1245. 24 birds, all wakeaing as I approached, flushed out of
the central area. Counted stores: 1256, all in central area.
22 May
1400. ♂ in the infamous '75-'76 nest hole both on the way to and
back from Bianca. Definitely could be it.
24 May
1615. Bird in the hole again. Must be it.
27 May
1120. Bird in hole; hole opened; 4 eggs.
31 May
1110. " " " .
5 June
1540. " " " . (♂)
14 June
1900. Opened the hole+measured the babies, of whom there are
only 2.
17 June
1310. Watching from hide.
1325. Cooper Hawk flew by, eliciting several alarm calls by at least
2 invisible AW in the area.
1420. There are birds here- I keep hearing them in the forest
behind me. But nobody's come into view or gone to the nest yet.
1435. Finally, (♂) m/ds-yec(n) #321 fed the kids.
1540. I'd say this doesn't seem to be a real big feeding
period. I'll have to try again another day.
