It's getting down to where I strongly suspect the others are indeed gone. (④231, ④233, and ④279) 8 March 1300. Counted stores: Sycamore: 285 Vally Oak: 1297 Small syc. by nest tree: 55 } 1637 18 March 1120. Watching. 3 birds came to nest tree to flycatch: ①♂ M/Red-Tan #282, ②♀ yel/DB-Yel #232, and ③♂ Red/#66. 1145. Birds wait silently while 2 Cooper Hawks fly over. (Hitting on underside of limb top). 1150. ④♂ Wh-LB/#67 and ⑤♂ ub. Also a tail-spotted ♀. One of the ♂♂ eating an acorn. 1210. Several birds here now, hawking and eating acorns, ⑥♂ ③M #298. ⑦♀ lg-Brn/lg #280. 1240. Lots of birds still around, mostly hawking but occasionally several spend a few minutes eating acorns. ⑧♂ a-b/4-b #63. 1300. Leaving. Birds pretty quiet now. These 8 are most likely it. 20 March Purge: ④233. Last seen 24 September 1976, gone by 18 October → Disappeared about 6 October 1976 ± 1 week. ④231. Last seen 16 July 1976, gone by 18 October → Disappeared about 31 August ± 1 month ④279. Last seen 3 November, gone by 15 February → Disappeared about 25 December 1976 ± 1 month. 5 April 900. ③282 seen near R1, attracted by the revolution there.
