Koenig Melanerpes formicivorus 22 (25 June) the tracts of the back, wings, top of head between eyes, have all coalesced; the papillae on the lower back and top of leg are still individually recognizable, as are those on the back of the skull (Hastings Reservation) [illegible] Eyes of *4 are open a crack.
