This PM on GRID DC I caught #* 1955 with RED Powder visible in
and on his laws only (not around mouth or feet) at station 7,110. At station
5,110 I dusted # 1389 with GREEN Powder.
Oct 15
This AM on GRID DC, St 7,110 I redusted #1479 with RED powder.
White-tail type
#1436, female, TAD. 2 log. Ear-tagged. GRID WR, st 4,4. Tissues cell
I caught this animal in the same trap as 1434 (tagged yesterday), so most
likely they are sibs.
This PM on GRID DC, I dusted the following animals:
#1389, female, station 6,115. Redusted with GREEN Powder
#1364, female, st 5,12. Dusted with GOLDEN BROWN.
#1225, female, st 4,9. Dusted with PURPLE.
Also this PM I caught #1233 at 6,110 with his ears
rimmed with GREEN Powder (no other else).
Oct 16
This AM on GRID DC both #1269 (st 5,11) & #1257
(st 4,9) had Purple Powder visible in their ears. I kept to
Catch them tonight to get a better look at the powder.
This PM on GRID DC the following animals were caught with visible Powder.
#1955, RED powder visible all over. St 7,110 (from #1979)
#1414, female, RED powder visible all over, st 7,110 (from #1179)
#1257, PURPLE powder visible in ear only, st 4,9 (from #1225)
#1155, GOLDEN BROWN powder visible all over body, st 5,12 (from #1364)
#0400, GREEN powder visible in ears only, st 6,15 (from #1389)
To summarizing, the fluorescent powders were transferred as follows:
Female
1979(RED)
1225(PURPLE) 1389(GREEN) 1364(BROWN)
↓ ↓ ↓ ↓
Male
1955(all over) 1257 0400 1155
1414(all over) 1269 1233
Since there is no breeding occurring, Perhaps the powder patterns
indicate females are checking out potential mates ?? (or vice versa)
1414 is probably offspring of 1979.
