BIBLE D.O. 1988 PETROUITSUS CALIFORNICUS 20 Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. May 5 (cont) We replaced the cutout wedge and leaned a small log against it to hold it in place. I should fix it more permanently tomorrow. May 6 This AM on GRID RC we redusted #11408 lactating with Purple Powder. #12608 SAD, TWD. 34.5g. Ear-tagged. MC drift fence, St W-1 (out). Blood, ear, saliva coll. #1268 ♀ Imm, nullip. 16.5g. " - " RC drift fence, St W-6.5(out) " - " [illegible] No idea whose offspring this is. I released this animal at 15:30h this PM. Since this animal is obviously very young, and it is nursing, I redelivered her back in (instead of out) to return to her nest. I don't think she is a dispenser. Probably young of 11549. This PM I caught #11810 with faint purple in his laws at station 5,12 on RC. and #12229 " fresh PURPLE all over her body at 4,13. #1955 ♂ has lost his ear tag, but is toe-clipped #0500. (7 May) #1269 ♀ Imm. TWD. 15.5g. Ear-tagged. GRID RC, St (o,11). Blood, ear, saliva, coll. [illegible] This animal was covered with fresh BROWN powder, thus offspring of #118799. I bled him on 5 May and released him ~16:00h. Upon release he fell off the rock at station (o,11) into the creek. I picked him up, dried him off & he proceeded awkwardly away from the stream. Later this AM we caught #1137 ♀ at 6,9 and I released her at 6,11 to hopefully help this little guy if he needs it. May 7 This am redusted #1979 with RED powder at station 9,17. on RC. May 9 #1271 ♀ Imm., nullip. 21.5g. Ear-tagged. (GRID MC, St 9,13. Blood, ear, saliva coll [illegible] No sign of any powder, but probably young of 1943 ♂♀ based on locality & time. Poor blood sample, blood pooled around leg. #1272 ♀ Imm., nullip. 20.5g. " - " " - " St 9,12. Blood, ear, saliva coll.
