PERDIXEUS CALIFORNIENSIS

Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif.
April 24 received active signals from both #1142 & 1944 at station 6, 13.
Wow! Perhaps these events were territorial aggression between
#1137 (unhinder) and #1142 & 1944 (?). #1142 was not observed
to visit the rest of 1979 this am.
This am Karen & I brought #1135 & #1243 (covered with green)
[ear] saliva
powder from 1135) back to the lab. Blood was collected from
#1243 & we took a vaginal smear from #1135. The smear
worked well (see notes taken on specific animals by K. Klein).
April 28 #1249 Q Lake SAD, nullip. 35g. Ear-tagged. GRID RC, St 13,10. Blood, ear, saliva.
#1251 O' Imm, TAD 24.5g. "-". "-", St 11,9. "-" "-".

[Red powder clearly visible in ears and on feet. Thus, offspring of #1917 QQ.
This am I removed radio-collars from the following animals:
#1944, O', 42g, scrotal (radio channel #4).
and not working
#1181, "", 38g, scrotal (radio channel #16 - radio chewed [not bad]).
I also caught #1979 Q lactating when her collar (chi# 8), dusted
her with RED Powder before releasing.
This PM I tried to find the signal of #1979, but no luck (slut!).
This PM while checking traps I 1) removed radio from #1146, 43.5g, pregnant
and dusted her PURPLE 2) Captured #1232 with RED powder
visible in ears and on rear feet (3) #1257 with [illegible] powder
[illegible in ears), (4) #1227 with ORANGE powder visible in ears
#1201 Q Imm, nullip 15g. Ear-tagged. GRID RC, St 3,8. Blood, ear, saliva coll 4 day.
[Red Powder visible in ears. Offspring of #1917 QQ

The presence of powder on #1257 probably indicates offspring
of #1917 QQ, which previously was not known
