RIBBIE, D.O. 1988 Procyon lotor (7) Hastings Reservation, Monterey Co., Calif. Feb 6 (pm) 2:30 p.m. - caught #1123 ♀ (radiod) in a trap set near 3.5, lo. I first received a signal from this area, then 30 mins later I heard the trap offer; so, I assume this was here. I tried to grab her from the trap without a plastic bag, but she escaped. From what I could see, her collar looked in good shape. Feb 7 (pm) This AM I caught #1917 at 3.5, lo in a Sherman set for #1123; 1976 (see above). She was lactating, so I dusted her with RED Powder. Her dorsal pelage is very patchy, with patches of thin black fur. This PM I caught #1914, ♂, central, west of Gud MC at station 1,5. He was covered with fresh RED powder (from #1917 above). On Gud MC I finally caught #1023 at station 1, lo on Gud MC. (see B Feb acct). I returned him to the lab for tissue collection tomorrow am. Also caught #1976, ♀, 4:45, post-lactating at 11,5. I dusted her with GREEN Powder. Also caught new animal: #1184 ♀ SAD, nullip 30g. Ear-tagged. GRID MC, St. 11,5 (off-grid) salamander. No visible sign of any powder. Not sure who she belongs to, probably #1976. See Acct 18 Feb Feb 8 This am I caught #1123 ♀ at her nest site, ot. 4.5,7. She weighed 43g and I got one drop of milk from her teats. I removed her collar and dusted her with GREEN Powder before releasing her. #1023 - I bled #1023 this am. His tag is turned around and could potentially lose it. He has previously been clipped for ear tissue, but I clipped another ~9mm² area so his left ear looks like [illegible] This PM I caught #1023 on MC at 11,4, covered with fresh ORANGE Powder (from 1976). Feb 9. This AM I redusted #1976 with ORANGE Powder at station 11,5 on MC. She is also definitely lactating.
