Melanerpes formicivorus
Road 1
Hastings Reservation
(25 September)
1703. ♀180 storing an acorn. Various ♂♂ (69, 180, ub) seem to be of the storing.
1705. leaving. Two comments: the "♀" - seen earlier, feared
to be j292, is much more likely to have been ♀ - LP#180; finally,
I certainly do not know what happened to ♀181 and ♂182, but
either they are playing very scarce or are gone- very
possibly involved in a move somewhere or other, I should think.
