Agaricus
portus, Dunkerran, 29 Oct. 1839
Subprapinum. Pileus umbrella-shaped, at length recurved
at the margin and very concave above, white, the margin
and edges of the gills at length cinnamon coloured. Gills
subdecurrent, white, at length tinged at the edges and ventricose.
Stem subfistulatus or loosely stuffed, white, bulbulous at
the base.
Pileus about 1 inch in diameter, at first firm, white and
convex, the margin at length revolvent, here and there,
become torn and at length the pileus is cup shaped above;
the margins to turn in to be ventricose, hence the gills
seen through give it a striated appearance.
Gills in 2 sets, somewhat decurrent, abutting toward the
margin and tapering a brown color; ventricose in the
middle. Stipe subbulbical, colourless, gelidic.
Stem 1-1/2 inches high, smooth, loose stuffed or
somewhat hollow above, with evident branched cotyledons
about the bulb.
Odour faintly as of A. Camphoratus.
Flesh white, not considerable.
Altered to A. dealbatus Sacc. t. 123 but the edges of the gills
do not remain white; and the pileus more recurved
