Ayanicus
Part of a large Elan, avenue of Dunkerron 24 Oct. 1839
Clustered. Pileus campanulato, at length flat, the margin
splitting and irregularly waved, pale watery flesh-brown,
very bluish underneath, theumbo brighter. Gills adnate,
broadest in the middle, concolorous but darker than the
pileus. Stem clavate, ascending, peeling into narrow threads,
fibrillose, at length split, white above, whitish brown
beneath.
Pileus 2-3 inches wide, the margin fringed and at
length incurved, a broad darker band at the margin, but
pale yellowish-white colour about the very flatumbo.
Gills 8 in a lot, darker than the pileus, except on the
very incurvated state when they are nearly white,
very narrow at their juncture with the stipe. Sporely
elliptical, pale. Stem 2-3 inches long, often flattened,
the full form waved, the lower very decurrent,
the upper part erect; broad fibrillose, splitting at the
base into linear brownish scales, what fine of these
a squarose appearance: with upper half whitish
pruinose.
Odour strong and pungent.
Spore pattern considerable.
