Agaricus
in old cowslung, partway, Dinkham 8 Sept. 1836. concreta.
3 & 4 together. Stems, semielliptical, obtuse, dusky brown,
filmy and shining when dry, margin subacuminate, subumbilicate.
Gills elliptical, acute at each end, adnexed, 1 or a lot, concolorous,
spicular black. Stem elongated slender, fistulose, concolorous
with the pileus.
Pileus 2 to 1/2 inches broad and high, semiovate or semielliptical,
with minute longitudinal depressions, pale when dry.
Gills a pale watery brown but at length affixing caused with
a black powder, which is formed of the spicular black threads.
Stem 3-5 inches long, slender, minutely fibrous above,
somewhat enlarged at the base where are several radicles, also
a straw-white down.
Flesh fleshy any.
Odour faint of the A. campestris.
