HAYDACK 2000 2002 MELANERPEs FORMICIVORUS PLAQUE HNHR 19 MARCH 10:40- Huge amount of acorns remaining in granary plague tree and V. oak toward workshop. No sign of a nest. Several holes in V. Oak near workshop show recent work. 6 July 18:30- 5 eggs - early incubation (2nd nest) ① 25.0 x 19.7. 2002 37 MAY 10:00- The last experimental nest. Remand cloth of 6 eggs (which included a single rent egg). Placed eggs in incubator. 20 June 19:30- Roost watch on nest with eggs. Many birds tried to roost-at least 4 ended up roosting in cavity. (Bird was in hole when I arrived). I was fairly sure that 2428 roosted (qm) +3522 (HF) and 330z (Hm). One other roosted as well, but I did not got a good enough look at the bands. 3525 repeatedly tried to roost but was unable to do so. 24 June 14:30- Checked nest-empty. Undear why nest failed. 10 July 6:00- No evidence of nesting.
