Bird left hole as we approached with the ladder. Finds 5 eggs; fairly fresh ① 24.1 x 18.7 ② 25.0 x 20.0, Walt took one egg for analysis. 27 MAY 14:30 - Banded 3 healthy nestlings with Walt. # 2990-2992. Some acorns remaining. 20 JUNE 14:00 - Checked for 2nd nest - No bird seen in hole. 30 Oct 12:00 - Perhaps a few good acorns, but basically only shells remaining 8 Nov 14:10 - Holes in west tree all have acorns; Grenay tree about 1/3 full. 1999 24 April 10:05 - Plenty of acorns; no evidence of a nest 29 April 10:20 - No evidence of a nest 8 June 13:53 - 4 eggs - mid-incubation ① 24.15 x 18.7 * [7 MAY] see FAAR Nesting in new hole, facing north down hill from grenzy [Nest failed] several days later 16 June 11:00 - 1 baby-bathed today and 3 eggs. 30 June 8:00 - No evidence of another nest.
