Bird was in hole a bit earlier. Finds .5 plus 1 runt egg! Incubated; ① 26.6x20.2 ② 21.5 x 15.8 Lots of acorns remaining. Some in nest boe; others remaining in granary. 27MAY 14:45. Banded 4 babies #'s 2993-2996 with Watts. Plenty of acorns remaining. 3oct 12:00- A few acorns from last year; lots of new holes (or re-worked). & Nov 14:05- Granary nearly full. 1999 24April 10:15- Lots of acorns; no evidence of a nest. 29April 10:25- No evidence of a nest. No birds seen 7May 9:00- Bird in traditional/nest hole. Checked and found only a mouse with its nest (no babymice) Removed mouse nest materials Mouse ran off. 30June 8:00- Still some acorns remaining. No evidence to a second nest.
