98 HAYDOCK 99 2000 MELANERDES FORMIKIVORUS PIPELINE HASTINGS 7 MAY 15:00- Bird flew from hole in granary tree. 5 eggs. Near hatching. 15 MAY Walt checked for hatching. (3?) 1 JUNE 12:10 Banded 3 healthy babies with Walt # 3012-3014. Some acorns remaining. 1999 37 April 13:20- 4 eggs- Early incubation- ① 25.7 x 19.3 30 April 11:05- Eggs- So L#D is 28 April (?) 13 MAY 14:00- 4 babies; largest 29g legg remaining - laid late? L#D according to resting weight is 25 April! 2000 7 April 12:08- No birds seen; no evidence of a nest. Plenty of acorns remaining, but upper portion of granary fell sometime during the winter. Fallen piece of granary had some acorns. Fallen piece includes 2 former nest/roost holes. 26 April 15:00- 4 babies-largest 17g. Hatched 22 April. legg-infertile-removed. 15 MAY 18:30- Banded 4 happy healthy nestlings in the light rain shower with Walt.
