99 HAYDACK 2000 MELANERPEs FORMICIVORUS HASTINES 1800. 17 MAY 9:15 - 6 eggs now; 3 look about normal and incubated; 1 is (almost?) a runt egg; 2 look either fairly fresh or infertile. 18 MAY 11:30 - 6 eggs (as above) ① 21.8 x 18.2 (runt?) ② 24.6 x 19.4 (looks fresh/infertile) ③ 24.6 x 19.7 (looks incubated) 28 MAY - 10:40 - 3 babies about 5 days old 1 is relatively small but looks OK. 2 eggs - They look like they could hatch?? 31 MAY 13:15 - 3 babies, no eggs 9 JUNE 13:30 - Banded 3 babies. There are a few acorns remaining. 2000 5 April 9:25 - Saw one bird near traditional nest tree / grove. No evidence of a nest. Lots of acorns remaining, 11 April 10:25 - Bird in traditional nest hole. 12 April 13:40 - 6 eggs - fresh ① 25.35 x 20.05 23 April 13:40 4 babies, egg piped; one egg mostly eaten (5mm diameter hole) Remains of partially developed embryo inside. 10 JUNE 11:55 - 7 eggs. 4 undeveloped or infertile; 3 mid-incubation. 2 of the 4 undeveloped dented. Measured 2 of the developed eggs ① 23.2 x 19.1 ② 24.8 x 20.6 and one undeveloped ③ 23.7 x 19.5
