October 12, 1917 I spent the afternoon at the library of the Asiatic Society in the Natural History Museum building. The library is small, but well arranged and cared for by Chinese assistants who talk English well. They have a good card catalogue, by authors and subjects. I found quite a number of books which were new to me on Yunnan, some in French and German, as well as English. T.K.K. CO.
