RUNNER OVERLOOK US AT 8:15 A.M. THIS MORNING
No call for my immediate departure so will carry on
Appreciate your sending my stuff up first. Our 3
Carriers started with double loads. Before long
changed to single loads. No sign of man in carrier.
Early, last night we camped a bit above your tag
House at 7:00 M. No water between there. There accord-
ing to natives.
6:00 A.M. May 16
No carriers in sight yet. No message. The man summer
Returns now with this note + y of our gear. We have longer
needed as we have a tent + fully here + more food
our food will be gone by time main carrier party
arrives. Old man came with us + a woman carrying
Native food. They go back today. He should have returned
Hope there has not been a smash with the transport.
A party of that size especially on a new project, really
needs the stiffening that a white man's presence gives.
