At 10 P.M. I reached Kansas City & stopped 10 minutes. I visited the tele- graph station but received no word from Oggood. 4 Hargraves in Illinois where we met our first snow. The fields bordering the track were covered by heavy snow and the weather was very cold. Chicago was reached at 1 P.M. at the Palace Street Station. I arranged to Field Museum but Oggood was away at Gulfport Miss for a fortnight of rests. A.B. Sevitz the anthropologist lefts rare game on my arrival at 7:30 at the Muston Hotel dinner with him at his house where [illegible]
