(2) Hilda took me down to Carmel for Xmas where her parents are stopping. We took the 2 P, Mr. Mann arrived at 6 P., Mr. Allen took a pulsator to Carmel. Her father is suffering from Bright's disease or nephritis & cough, stead marry or work owing to high blood pressure which this disease causes. He was prof. of language & Told me that he has many new facts on origin of English words & language in manuscript. Both he & his wife are from Mich- gan Univ. at Ann Arbor. Hilda has just returned from 4 yrs in England, 3 months in Algeria & Annatt in France doing Medical investigation on diphtheria germs as a free lance. She visited Denmark & Sweden also. The family put me up in the house & I was very comfortable
