(19) I returned to S.F. in the fog at 9:13 A.M., train. At the station. Here I met Will Price, also on his way to the city. He is going into Y.M.C.A work in France. The Red Cross would not take him owing to his high blood pressure due to nephritis or kidney trouble. He is however in a ruddy happy state of health but is not allowed to eat meat or drink coffee. With Price was Miss H[ei]r[pel], a Stanford 1913 Biology major who has recently returned from France & Algeria where she has done medical work. Now she is at the Harper Medical Research Lab in S.F. The 3 ques visited the Academy Museum in Golden Gate Park near her laboratory. I dried Mt. Palace with Price's afterwards
