13 After dinner we had dance
at the hotel the music furnished
by a string orchestra of Dutchmen
from a Dutch ship recently
arrived from Java. These Dutch
men mentioned the sad plight
of Holland as a neutral & the
carcity of food & their help
lessness.
14 Visits his wife (with tiffin)
at the hotel with me. He
has written several books
of picture + travel. One of
these I bought, "The Rubs &
Sights" which is on sale
at the hotel for readers support.
