It rained slowly all morning. 27 I had a pleasant revelation at the chief Japanese bank in Seoul! They accepted my craft on Kbp for 400. yes, & cashed it without any endorsement which is more confidence than any American or European Bank has shown in me. Further they charged me only ½ yen or 50 cents & not that 7 generous percent which Chinese banks or European control charge their fellowman, I must confess the Japs show much confidence in foreigners & are well beyond the average in friendship. The Yellow Peril is chiefly in the superior consideration with which the Japs treat us than badly we treat one another
