rickshaws are the common conveniange. It is very seldom that a Sedan chair is seen in Peking. Automobiles are more common as there are no roads out side the city where they can travel. Camels are quite often seen, but since the RR to Kalgan & the Mongolian, border has taken possession of the freight trade they are rare now. The camels are great large brutes of the Bactrian type having 2 high humps between which the saddle is securely placed.
