April 4 8:30 - Arrive to attempt male guarding observation. 5 birds seen. So is there a power struggle ? mauve / mauve = (2363) (Bm) / yellow (1521) (Bm) lub. (5406) Birds that were being chased have left, so apparently they were just including temporarily . 9:02 - Started male-guarding observation. 10:32 - Ended. Difficult to obs. only was able to obtain 3 Attendance samples and 1 fly p follow. Female left and males did not follow, so it is unclear if they are in God male guarding. 17 Apr.'l 11:27: 5 fresh eggs. Bird in tree. Ø 23.9 x 19.4 29 Apr.'l 13:30 5 babies - all look fairly healthy. Also BØ 1521 stayed on nest when I climbed up tree, so I caught him. Added 8 new bands and gave him a lot of war paint. on his feet. 19 MAY 9:15 - Band and Bled 5 healthy babies #2832 2886. 10 July 8:25 - No evidence of a new nest. Some acorns in nest tree/granary.
