HAYDOCK 98 MELANERPE FORMICIVORUS 1800 4NHR 16 April 15:00 checked holes for birds, nobody seen lots of acorns. 19 MAY 11:00 - One baby just hatched, one egg w/o development one egg that might hatch seen. 9 JUNE 12:30 Banked 1 healthy nestling with walt. #2891 9 July 10:05- Bird in nest hole of this year. Acorns remaining in granary. Walt checked hole and found. ① 2 eggs ① 25.5x18.4. ② 24.8x17.6.- Fairly fresh; could still be laying. 15 July 10:30 - Still just 2 eggs. 32 July 11:30 - One baby just hatched. -check again. 1998 15 MAY 10:15- No birds seen in a hole. Plenty of acorns remaining 1 JUNE 12:50 - Walt checks; finds 2 babies about 8 days old. 5 JUNE 11:00- 3 eggs - fresh/not incubated. One is a run t egg① (18.2 * 14.7); other 2 normal ② 25.1x18.1 15 June 11:00- Nothing left. Nest prob. failed in egg stage. Eggs infertile? (No breeding mate here, so insist or outside mating would have to have occurred. 24 JUNE 12:50- Bird in hole - traditional nest hole. 6 July 13:40- It's a nest! One baby, 2 eggs normal + ① (19.9x15.1) ② 25.9 x 20.25 1 run egg. Baby hatched today, Acorns remaining.
