14 June 11:45 - Checked holes for renesting - nobody seen
Plenty of stores remaining
30 June 11:45 - Checked holes again for renesting - nobody seen
5Aug 19:20 Roost watch. Bird in hole (2nd nest). I
watch 1800's main granny tree (1st nest) while
Mary watches below at 2nd nest. 2+ birds go
roost in my tree in this years 1st nest. Mary
reports bird left hole in lower tree; no other birds
seen entering hole.
6Aug. 18:00 - Set ambush on 1st nest hole
19:20 - Did not see anyone roost in hole - Bird
in hole of 2nd nest.
7Aug. 9:30 - Tied ambush in place. Will try again in a
couple of days.
9 Aug 18:30 Set ambush for another attempt.
19:30 - 1 bird C?) went into hole. Mary reports
that they wanted to go to their lower nest hole -
she scared them away.
10Aug. 4:30 - Ambush failed - no bird in hole and
string broke anyway. -yuck.
