98 J. HAYDOCK 99 2000 MELANERPE FORMICIVORUS KNOLL HNHR 21 JUNE 9:30 Banded 3 babies #3035-3037. Some acorns remaining. 1999 6 April 9:30 - No birds seen, No evidence of nest. 19 MAY 10:10 - Watt checked nest to see if they have hatched. Nest is empty!! 3 June 13:50 - Joey climbed tree, 5 eggs ① 27.5 x 19.9 ② 28.3 x 20.4 , incubated, probably hatch in 4 or 5 days. 30 July 8:30 - Banded 3 healthy nestlings with Watt. Plenty of acorns remaining in barn. 2000 19 MARCH 12:02 - Lots of acorns, both in barn and locust tree to east of barn. Saw 3 birds, including a ♀ with a red-dark band in her left leg [2333] 5 April 9:40 - No evidence of nesting yet. Several birds seen in locust trees by barn 11 April 10:15 - Male guarding, but no bird seen in a hole 19 April 10:10 - Bird in new hole in locust on saw side of barn, located ~ 18 ft above ground in 4 ft (broken off) limb.
