Heard one bird closely and toward Fanny Arnold 1996 3 April. 4:20. No birds seen; No acorns 20 April. 12:00 - No birds seen. 1997 14 April. 13:40 - Walt sees bird in hole, Charles not and finds eggs- 18 April. 8:10 - Checked for clutch size - 6 eggs now. 24 April. 10:50 - Measured a egg ① 25.05x18.8 2 MAY. 14:45 - 5 babies. 4 at about 19g the 5th only 5 grams, but hanging in there. Poor bird; No eggs. 11 MAY. 12:10 - Having set up a blind and set the ambush 45 min ago, I returned to attempt to catch unbanded breeder female. >Failed she left while I pulled the ambush 12 MAY. 7:00 - Another attempt to catch unb. female Yes - got her! # 20 MAY. Banded 3 babies. All look good 10 June. 10:15 - Bird may have flown from hole in same tree as (1st nest, but hole that faces downward toward butt not ravine
