KEEP OUT
HASTINGS
15 April
5:00- Roost ambush. Caught and painted three birds in
single roost hole; the other 3 birds in a group
likely roosted together in another hole in same
dead snag located towards junk yard from granary.
Saw 3 birds fly as I started climbing snag to
remove birds, but not sure if they came from the
same hole. 2448 B4 pink; 2399 B0 green
2645 B0 yellow paint.
16 April
6:00- Arrived to observe for possible egg tossing
with National Geographic photographers.
6:25- 6:30- 2602 B4- observed along w/o any other
birds within 15 meters of bar.
6:31- 2448 B4- observed along but she then flew
to join others including males.
7:00- 2399 and 2448. Have been sitting next to
each other for 20 min! - Pink (2448) then left and
Green did not follow. Intruders seem to be coming in but,
I have not been able to identify some birds that
seem to be intruders. There has been some chasing
of birds from the territory.
7:18- Again I see Pink 2448
2399
and green arrive together in fancy
hue, but green leaves w/o pink.
