97 HARDUCK MELANERPES FORMICIVORUS PHOBO 3 April 15:20. Nobody seen in a hole, Lots of acorns. 14 April 12:50 - Nobody seen in a hole 1 May 15:30 - Bird in hole; hear babies after it leaves. Same hole that I thought bird came out of about 5 days ago (claring roost with no nest taken) New hole in poison oak surrounded tree located just below hole used last year for nesting. 2 May 13:30 - Finally made it through all the poison oak (cut most of it away) and opened hole. 7 babies!! 10g to 23g. Only the 110g bird is significantly smaller; the rest are about the same size (~23g) 17 MAY Banded 10 June 9:45 - No birds seen in a hole - Still plenty of acorns 13 June 10:20 - Two fledglings flew from nest hole located in (is black oak?) towards briaq. (hole opens downward), I hope those were PHOBO fledglings and not some other group (i.e. SOBO) 7 July 9:20 - Nobody seen in a hole. Still plenty of acorns 18 Aug 7:40 - Several birds seen, Some acorns remaining.
