Saw #2476 enter & leave just before & entered to roost with nestlings. 19Aug 15:00 - Attempt to set ambush for day-time capture of an NOBA & breeder. String broke! and I did not bring weight to throw string over limb again. I Will try again soon ---- . 22Aug 19:00 - Roost Watch. Who is roosting with nestlings? See male in nest (40) when I arrive. I don't think this bird left. [illegible] (Set unknown) Enter nest and stays. Another bird comes in late and stays. Could have been unbanded - I did not see bands, but I did not get a good look. 24Aug 15:00 - Set ambush for attempt at catching Unb & breeder While he feeds at nest. 15:10 - I'm in blind waiting.... 16:25 [2476] draws/feeds 1st - finally - 1:10 min after start! 17:20 - Have seen 2474, 2455, 2476 feed, but not NOBA. 25Aug 11:30 - Set ambush for another attempt. I am now in other blind waiting for NOBA. NOBA came to hole twice, both times w/o food. Never entered hole - Saw 2476, 2474, 2455, 2456 feed several times each. [25Aug] 26Aug 14:30 - Find 1 dead nestling - died recently took tissue sample.
