94 HAYDOCK, JOSEPH 95 MELANERPE FORMICIVORUS SCHOOL HILL WEST HWHB. 13 April. 16:30 Checked main tree several cavities - no answer 23 June. 11:00 Checked two holes - nobody seen 28 June. 11:15 Checked two holes in nest tree - possible that a bird flew from upper hole 29 June. 7:00 Checked two holes in nest tree - nobody seen 14 July. 10:55 - Checked two holes in nest tree - bird flew from tree - worth checking again - maybe just chick and chak. 15 July. 10:15: Chalked upper hole in main granny tree - Nothing there; bottom of hole very uneven. No bird seen in hole. 1995 6 April. 11:45 - Checked holes. Nobody seen. Lots of acorns remaining. 12 MAY. 18:00 - 4 eggs. Warm / mid-incubation Measured Egg: 22.9 x 19.9 23 MAY. 12:00 - Nothing left. Few if any acorns in granary. 29 MAY. 10:45 - Seems to be a power struggle going on - Lots of WHHA's, drumming, etc. - Count at least 7 birds in area, but I don't have my scope to identify them. 29 MAY. 14:30 - Start obs. of power struggle again - Main activity is just uphill from granary.
