MELANERPEs FORMICIVORUS
ROAD 3
5 JUNE 11:00 - Banded/bled 3 nestlings with Walt.
1996
12 April 16:30 - Set Ambush to catch BM's for painting.
13 April 6:00 - Ambush Failed because line broke.
21 April 12:00 - Checked holes. Nobody seen in a hole.
8 May 9:30 - Checked upper hole in blue oak in open area (10m from road). No eggs, but bird did come and complain when I climbed.
July 28 17:00 Set ambush to try to catch breeding female. (2nd try- see Walt's notes for previous ambush - blue caught a fledgling, so they had a nest)
July 29 5:00 Caught 2609 in upper hole of sycamore tree located on road. Nobody else in this hole or lower hole (also with ambush) so we are still not sure who the breeding female is for this group.
15 August 7:00 - Checked ground territory for possible roost holes as nobody roosted in either of the two trees they have usually roosted in. (sycamore and oak tree). The hole in the sycamore along the stream bed seems to be open and usable again (Walt had blocked it with some branches a week or so ago).
22 August 8:40 - Nobody seen in a hole.
