96 J. HAYDOCK MELANERPE S FORMICI VORUS CV2 HNHR 2 April 3:00 - No birds seen. Lots of acorns remaining in granary near gate. 8 April 12:40 - Saw 3 birds in granary tree. Possible that mate guarding has started as it saw birds following one another. 17 April 16:00 - Put up two feeders with dog food. CV2 is supplemented group, paired with Buckeye that is not being supplemented. Placed feeder in main granary. 18 April 11:00 - Moved feeders to nest tree with many holes. Main granary location interfered with Ginger's magpie nest/feeding observations. 19 April 14:30 - Took down both feeders. Decided to use Buckeye as a supplemental group. Too much interference with crows/magpie in CV area. 21 April - Checked holes. Nobody seen 28 JUNE 19:35 - Arrive to do roost watch to determine which 8? is incubating at night. Bird in hole when it arrived. We watched each other for ½ of an hour than he backed into hole. 30 JUNE 19:25 - Arrived a bit earlier.. Nobody in hole, 19:55 - Red (orange) on left enters - did not see any metal band, so it is likely that it is 2418. - I actually thought the bird had only red (orange) bands on the left leg. 1 July 19:54 - Roost watch. See m / l green - D-green enter [2417] 4 July 19:50 - Another roost watch. Red / (narrow split) roosts this time - [2418]
