14 Aug 9:20 - Nobody seen; some acorns remaining.
1995
1 April: 10:20 - Lots of acorns. No birds seen.
13 April 12:52 - Arrive to check on activity of
power struggle observed yesterday by W. Koenig.
Today, open arrival, things seem quite. Saw
1 bird fly from granary tree when we arrived.
A few minutes later heard some calls from
last years nest tree.
21 April 11:00 - All quiet. Today is the first nice (sunny/warm)
day during the last week, so I was hoping to
see more activity in power struggle. Checked
holes - nobody seen.
6 JUNE 11:15 - Checked holes. Nobody seen in a hole, or
for that matter anywhere.
13 JUNE 11:00 Saw several birds, but nobody in a hole. Found
Primary feathers from one bird (adult?) on ground
halfway to nest tree in small canyon. Probably did
not die too recently - 2-4 weeks ago? - No bands found.
Bird may have been molting, or are these fledgling fathers?
Lots of acorns remaining
24 JUNE 11:00 - Nobody seen
10 Aug 16:40 - Lots of acorns remaining in granary; 2 birds
seen near holes up small canyon.
