95 J. HAYDOCK MELANERRES FORMICIVORUS MYRE H N H R April 1 10:30 - Some steros, not a lot considering the number of holes in granery. No birds seen. April 14 18:30 - Roost watch with Jim. Jim reports 2-3 birds roost in upper tree, last years lot west. I did not see any birds coost in the lower tree. April 15 16:30 - Set Ambush (Trying to catch for blood sample) 18:30 - Jim reports no birds stayed in hole. Ambush apparently knocked down by bird after 2 had entered c causing 2 that had entered to leave April 16 14:00 - Tied Ambush in place for later attempt. April 17 16:30 - Reset Ambush 18:30 - No birds entered, April 18 10:00 - Took down ambush. Checked holes for birds nobody seen. 7 May 19:00 - Roost watch. Bird goes in hole fairly early (possible nest) in branch on N side of granary tree; later replaced by another bird. Did not see another bird roost in granary tree. 9 May 16:00 - Seggs; measured 1 25.7 x 19.1; Bird on nest when I arrived. Mid-late incubation 12 May 9:30 - Arrive to set ambush. Want to catch 1826; need cDNA/blood sample and want to remove her (BP) to c cause power struggle/group with co-breeding JPs ~ But - There already is power struggle going on when I arrive.
