97 J. HAYDOCK MELANERPE FORMICIVORUS CW GRANDE HWNHR April 3 9:30: Bird flew from near hole in tree on CNIEBO/LARB side of territory. Could not see if bird was in hole, but there is a nice looking hole in this tree now. 14 April 11:45 - Saw 2 birds in above ↑ tree. Nobody seen in a hole 16 April 11:50 - Birds in tree again but I did not see anybody in a hole. 6 MAY 11:30 - Bird in hole in tree made into granary by us after the granary was cut down. 7 MAY 16:30 - Opened new hole (Not really a new hole, but there was a previous hole into this cavity that had completely grown over). Found 3 fresh eggs, so they are probably still laying. 14 MAY 16:40 - Still just 3 eggs. Bird in hole when I arrived ① 24.7 x 19.2 All Eggs look infertile. 22 MAY 12:30 - No eggs remaining - No evidence of why not failed but, of course, eggs looked infertile anyway. 22 June 16:20 - 3 eggs again in the same hole. One piped (or dented?) so they may be about to hatch. 23 June 9:15 - 3 babies. Hatched recently, (i.e. with last 1/6hr) Acorns remaining in granary pieces we put up in this tree. 5 July 9:30 - Babies still must be OK - I ran hear them. 12 July 8:30 - Caught Unbanded breeder ♀ at nest. #2926. 15 July 11:00 - Banded 3 nestlings. #2931-2933.
