97 J. HAYDOCK MELANERPE FORMICIVORUS CHONGO HNHR 26 MAY 7:30 - Arrived to capture unbanded adults. Apparently there is only a pair here (As per restwatch by Jure) Caught B♂ (#2853.) 27 MAY 6:45 - Came to find tree covered - yes covered with ants, including all around entry hole to nest. I presumb nest was destroyed by ants after I caught the B♂ and he was not there for a while to defend the nest. (There have always been a lot of ants in this tree). Too many ants on tree for me to want to climb up and check rest, - perhaps returning early in the morning would make checking the nest possible. 6 June 8:30 - Banded and bled 3 very small & 1 old nestlings. #2879-2881
