Checked last year's nest hole - bird looking out! So they are roosting in this cavity? April 21 12:30 - Female outside of last year's nest hole looking in. 18 MAY 10:50 - EGG #3 PIPPED; did not check others. Still 7 eggs, including runt egg. 21 MAY 9:30 - 4 babies; largest - 13g; no eggs remaining. And as a bonus the breeder #2260 was in the hole when I checked the nestlings. 12 August 8:05 - Bird in hole! Flew from hole before I could see if it was a juv. or adult. 10:15 - Walt climbs up tree. Finds 9 eggs!! (1 is grunter?) ① 25.0 x 19.6 ② 26.0 x 20.1 Clutch complete probably; a couple of days old? 22 August 10:50 - 7 live babies, + 1 dead one in nest, no eggs Range of weight of 7 live babies 4-12g. Took tissue from dead nestling #2716 10 Sept 16:05 - 3 babies. Banded # 2718-2720 Still need to put on metal bands (c 902- 2718 orange-dble / Metal / yellow M#→42789 2719 metal / black M#→902-42790 2720 yellow / d blue-white (w) M#→902-42791
