95 J. HAYDOCK MELANEREPES FORMICIVORUS CHONGO HNHR 10 April 15:00 Arrive to attempt to set ambush at tree on puckyeye side of canyon. They roosted in hole in limb facing canyon. (new hole, not in dead limb) (April 8th, Peter Obs.). I made it most of the way up this branch, but it seemed a bit too close to dead to risk venturing further out - Possible that hole could be blocked so by climbing adjacent tree and using pole w/ plugging device on end! 24 April 13:30 2 eggs. Measured (1) 26.6 x 19.8. Early Incubation (1-3d). 6 May 9:00 - 5 nestlings, legg (removal) (would not have had that) largest nestling: 16g. 2 of 5 nestlings probably will not make it. 23 MAY 8:30 - Nest ambush attempt. Want to catch 1968 B4 and 2103 B4 for blood/DNA sample. Yes! - Caught 1968 / took blood/DNA sample. Checked ultracold - have unused 1992 sample for #2103 - So no need to get this individual. 25 MAY 8:30 - Banded/bled 3 nestlings. 2606: white/M black-yellow/black-yellow 2607: L-green/L-green M/LLgreen-L-blue mauve-orange/(mauve orange 2608: Orange (m)
