Sandpipers swarming in on the edge of the lake & feed. They stayed about for some time. They are evidently August migrants. Aug 16 Set. Night rather cold as there was ice on the water bucket. We woke up to clean a wreck out of the back bays. While eating breakfast Water Oull was seen at the edge of the lake creeping slowly head under water and sometimes swimming. Swimming along the shore and feeding in this manner the bird appeared like some mouse swimming and later looked at
