INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE.
To ascertain the progress of a call already booked or any other information respecting trunk line calls, or the numbers of country subscribers not included in the Telephone Directory, or to report any difficulty in the trunk line service, ask for or dial in Brisbane, Perth and Sydney, B072,
Melbourne, M072, Adelaide L02. These calls are free.
CALLS BY DEFENCE PERSONNEL.
Private trunk line calls made by any member of the Defence Forces from a camp or training establishment or, when in uniform, from any Post Office in Australia, are charged half the usual rates.
MESSENGER FEE.
The fee is 6d. where the person called to the telephone resides within the usual radius of free delivery of telegrams; beyond that radius the portage fees for the delivery of telegrams shall be charged in addition to the fee of 6d. The appropriate Particular Person fee shall also be charged in each case.
CALLS AFTER HOURS.
Where calls to and from an Official Exchange which is not open continuously are made after the normal hours for telephone business, an additional fee of 1/6 is charged for each half-hour during which the Exchange is opened. In the case of a Non-official Exchange, a charge not exceeding 1/6 for each half-hour may be made.
MONEY ORDERS.

Within the Commonwealth.—1/- first £5, 6d. each additional £5.
New Zealand, 4d. for each £1 or part. Minimum, 1/- . Plus exchange of 3d. in the 1/-. 5/- in the £1.
Papua, Rabaul (New Guinea), New Caledonia, Nauru.—4d. for each £1 or part. Minimum, 1/-.
Fiji.—4d. for each £1 or part. Minimum 1/- . Exchange, 1.6 pence for each 1/- or 2/8 for each £1, with sliding scale for portions of £1. 2/8 in the £1.
Gilbert and Ellice Islands, Solomon Islands and Tonga.—6d. for each £1 in first £6, and 4d. for each additional £1 or part. Minimum 1/- .
United Kingdom, Canada, Ceylon, Egypt, Federal Malay States, Hong Kong, India, Eire, Malta, Mauritius, Norway, North Borneo, Straits Settlements, South Africa, United States of America.—6d. for each £1 in the first £6, and 4d. for each additional £1 or part. Minimum, 1/- . Exchange 3d. for each 1/- or part, excepting Canada, U.S.A. and Malaysia.
Other Countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, and Islands adjacent to those countries.—6d. for each £1 in the first £6, and 4d. for each additional £1 or part. Minimum 1/- . Exchange, 3d. in 1/-. These are forwarded via London and are subject to an additional charge of 2d. in each £1 or part. Minimum, 4d.; or through another country when the additional charge is deducted from that portion of the value from the Money Order.
