Oct 18 To Kennett Square Pa We left Washington about 2 P.M. to drive to Salem was To attend the A.O.U. meeting. We went via Baltimore The foliage was beginning Change, but was not as its bright. The sign From in the Gardens. We Reached Kennett square about dark and stopped at a house on the left as we entered the town 217 West State St. Smith J Gawthrop. Got a good supper at a restaurant. After Supper I looked up C.J. Pennock. Found him at his wife at home and passed a pleasant evening with them. Talked over things in general and Buds in particular. Mr Pennock said that had been no frost except a dittle in the bottoms Came 122 Miles
