April 9. 1928 Washington The flowers of the Sheerbush whose buds have been daily expectantly opened today, as the leaves of the Chestnut Oaks were visible. For some days the tulips have been showing green. Elm leaves are almost showing. In some of the warmer streets the tulips and plum buds have progressed to a point where they cast a little shade. April 10. This morning the leaves of the elms and the Norway maples are showing visible.
