Saturday, Aug 29.
Day rainy. Slept indoors
in the morning. In the
afternoon went out on reef
with Dr. Nanna. We found
a large number of Peckal
Sawfishes. This is that a
number. I skinned one
of the smallest.
Oxford and rap toward halfway
Point. de slate forms
Peckal Sawfishes, also
a Sharktail and a
Leak Sawfish. The Cutters
near G. Islands, as far
as we can ascertain
made them safe.
Late in the evening we
received a message that
we seemed to be taken
aboard, probably in the
morning
Sunday, Aug 30.
The Manning arrived from
Shelenger in the afternoon.
We closed up all accounts
and business and went
about. We left about 5 Pm.
All the people went down
to the East Landing, and
although on an eclipse
I started home
on more sorry to leave
the river friends with whom
we had lived such a
Cordial life.
The Manning brought
our mare
we left in the evening
