Wednesday Oct 22 7 m. Left at 90 and got to 4ozellits about 1 o'clock Found all my specimens sent in from Babud & the street. Put in the afternoon overhauling and fishing. The train is not running and I cannot get away until Thursday. Mr MacPherson & Babud let me that 3 years ago there were quite a number of Deer other about a large Kelp Flats on the west coast of 2. Le Polu's rear and that there are some on the W coast of Vancouver Is. For many years they seemed to have disappeared entirely but for within recent years become more frequent. I saw a deer this summer on the E shore of Little lake about 20 miles below T's Landing.
