Friday August 8
We ascended by way of the gully
near Camp to the paddling

foot of the glacier on a thin
ascent a sharp ridge
which led up to the higher
peaks. On it was an old sheep
trace but no signs more
recent than about a year.

of 6800 feet above where
the sheep would have to feed

Between our point and the
Valley of Bear River which
we have ascended lies a
number of sharp peaks which
cannot be hunted from the
east side. There is no
sure hope of finding
sheep in this part. We
have decided to move camp back to the
upright side and explore
through that part.
In a hike we climbed 250
