Notes from C B Morse Taughtee Nat Forest St Anthony Idaho Notes relating to Western Part of Wyoming Game Preserve Valley. C B Morse tells me that more were seen about Indian Lake in July 1910. There are many on Partridge Creek, and between Mesa Siding and Rocles, and to the eastward Particularly along Warm River and Partridge Creek. Many are found between Three and the North Fork of Snake River. Elk about 30 on Squirrel Creek Meadows in June 1910. Elk come out of the S.W. Corner of Nat Park Many cross the N Fork of Snake River near Big Falls. Many Cross westward on to upper Sand Creek and Pine Creek. The former winter range was in the open country to the Northwest of St Anthony. A few summer on the Taughtee Forest just west of the Nat Park but most cross fold into the Park There are 3 or 4 parties who have taken up claims on Squirrel Creek Meadows in the Western part of the Game Preserve They were cut over and grazed then in 1910. Year before about 100. Head grazed them on the Trail Rim meadows in the Game Preserve and to the west a good deal. They Covers be cut. Practically no elk counter them. Most of them come out of the Preserve and winter in The Teton Valley. May used to winter on the South Fork of Snake River.
