Elk come from Callmwork and Tusk Creeks in Norumbega collect in large herds in December and come down along the Red Hills Thinks to get 3 or 4 cross horn calves, Then said turns show signs of arching in Norumbega. Lion is principally Calves and a few old ones. Thinks Ps do not. Thinks there is no scarcity of bulls More deer contest than formerly are witnessed coming to killing with Lions. Are a pair on Crystal Creek ridge but none along the Gros Ventres. Sheep are reduced One bunch of 5 seen last summer on Alkali Creek near the slide Seen 2 cows moved on his ranch dist last summer. Wolves are getting rather common on the Gros Ventres First seen about 7 years ago I have killed shots for them, last year killed 2 heads. Thinks they Come from the Union Pox country From York River Thinks the elk are worth preserving. All the residents derive a benefit from the elk. 90% get meat Thinks the meat from elk is worth 100 dollars to each family. The elk on the Gros Ventres interfere with the local stock raising. Elk are of sufficient importance to state to justify protection and care Has found several den of Coyotes. One with small young large enough to run about about the last of May, 1910. A half den 5 miles north of Givells was taken last Spring with 7 young by Roy Bird of Kendall. Has taken young from same den the previous year.
